1969 Lotus Elan S4
25,000
SHORT DESCRIPTION
Offered for sale is this 1969 Lotus Elan S4, showing just 52,000 miles and finished in a striking Sprint-style red and ivory livery with gold accents. Powered by its twin-cam 1.6L inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission, the car features dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, a stainless-steel exhaust, four-wheel disc brakes, 13-inch Panasport-style alloy wheels, black vinyl bucket seats, a wood-accented dashboard, and a black convertible top.
Purchased as a project by the current owner in 1990, the car spent many years in storage before being recommissioned in May 2026. Recent work includes fresh fluids, spark plugs, carburetor O-rings, carburetor adjustment, and a rebuilt brake master cylinder. The engine is believed to have been rebuilt under previous ownership with a modified cylinder head featuring larger valves. The retractable headlights are currently inoperative, and the car shows cosmetic blemishes consistent with its age. A unique, lightweight British sports car with tremendous potential for its next caretaker.
